On July 2-3, 2011, the Blackboard class web site system at UM will be upgraded from 8.0 to 9.1. This is a major improvement in the interface and workflow of the system.
In order to be ready for it, faculty who have used Blackboard before should attend a session that explains the differences. Those teaching in Summer II or who want to get a head start on setting up their fall class sites on Blackboard 9.1 should attend one of the "Getting Comfortable with Blackboard 9.1" hands-on sessions.
Additional "Getting Comfortable" sessions will be offered before the start of the fall semester for faculty who don't teach during the Summer 2 term.
These "Getting Comfortable" sessions are for people who have used Blackboard 8.0 and need to learn how to work in Blackboard 9.1. Complete training on 9.1, for people who have not used Blackboard before, will also be offered before and during the fall semester.
