Flickr and YouTube aren't just used to record cats playing the piano. Both are valuable repositories of primary and secondary source material on a wide range of topics. The Library of Congress and other museums have uploaded many of their image collections to Flickr. Likewise, YouTube has numerous video clips from historical and contemporary documentaries. Learn how to find useful material and organize, share and present it.
Wikis are the quick and easy way to create web pages. Collaborate on documents, brainstorm ideas and share bibliographies with colleagues without learning html. They're also great to foster class discussion and group projects among your students.
This lunch and learn will introduce you to the many ways these resources can be used for research-related purposes or in your classroom, in general!
Lunch will be provided.
